I created my own text for each cover page introducing each new section. I individually scanned different shaped leaves, digitally cut round each one, piecing together each letter to restore the line detail in the leaves. I had the leaves on a contrasting orange background and yellow highlighter to have a retro feel as I was researching a lot of plant books published in the 1970s.
Plants And Stuff zine
38 pages, spiral bound at the top. Part notebook, part plant inspiration and wellbeing zine.
A self-initiated project, I worked as editor and art director creating this plant themed zine.
I wanted the zine to be part note book so I left every other page blank for the reader with the idea that they could add notes/ ideas as they read through the zine or whilst out gardening. I printed on a variety of coloured papers- yellow, pink and mint green which all added a pop of colour contrast to my handmade collages.
